Book Description: A pair of exquisite watercolours mounted on rectos of two consecutive preliminary blank leaves of Under the Window, signed by Kate Greenaway to the half-title, numerous colour illustrations, interleaved throughout, original upper cover bound in at the front (preceding half-title), All edges gilt., marbled endpapers, early 20th century navy half morocco, spine ends rubbed, spine divided by gilt rule decoration. Raised bands, gilt lettered direct in second compartment, remainder with single gilt flower tool. The first watercolour - Two girls with Rackets - shows small girl and an older girl carrying rackets, running through a rain shower (49 x 63 mm). The second watercolour - Gathering Apples - shows three small girls in mob caps kneeling at the foot of a tree, gathering apples in baskets, within a painted lunette frame (44 x 71 mm) (YBP Ref: 17870/2 15)
