Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Blue pattern on front and back boards. Boards are faded. Corners are bumped and worn. Spine is discoloured, and the top and bottom are bumped. Gilt lettering is faded. Endpages are a little foxed. Black and white frontispiece is detached and chipped at the top. Tissue paper protection is intact but foxed. 488 pp + adverts. 85 plates. Pages are loose in places. Title page is foxed. Occasional staining throughout text. Plate between pages 66/67 is detached. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 1145g.
