circa 1850. Green blindstamped cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners are bumped, board edges worn. Spine has bumping to top and bottom. Endpages have several newspaper cuttings tipped in, hole approx 2 sq cm. Previous owner's mark. B/w frontispiece showing a wood engraving of Carthagena Weir. Illustrated throughout with eighty wood engravings. Several pages are loose as the binding has started to give. Textblock has grubby marks at the spine edge but not affecting the text. 100 pp. 80 b/w illustrations. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 183g. (YBP Ref: 021437:1-M6)
