Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners bumped and worn. Slight wear to board edges. Spine is age darkened with bumping to top and bottom. Page edges are rather grubby. Top edge gilt. Some foxing to endpages. Front inner hinge is cracked but holding. Rear inner hinge is cracked but holding. Textblock is just starting to give. B/w frontispiece with tissue protection intact. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is mostly clean. 444 pp. Some b/w illustrations.
