Green half leather boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in good order, just a little scuffed. Corners are bumped, board edges worn. Spine is faded and scuffed with bumping to top and bottom. Spine has raised bands which are gilt decorated. Gilt lettering on a red spine label between first and second raised bands. Green buckram to boards with green leather to corners and spine. Marbled page edges which complement the FEP and FFEP. Marbled endpages. Colourful frontispiece to 1873 and 1874 volumes, in the 1875 volume, the chromolitho frontis is placed after the index. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is mostly clean. 12 chromolithos and 29 wood engravings in 1873 volume, 12 chromolithos and 52 wood engravings in 1875 volumes, 13 chromolithos and 27 wood engravings in 1874 volume.
