Volume I: From the Beginnings to 1760. 1962. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in good order, just a little grubby. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is a little faded with bumping to ends and two small spots. Colour frontispiece. Textblock is in good condition, clean and tight. 213 pp. No dj with this volume except for a torn off inner flap showing that it would have been yellow. Volume II: From the Beginnings to 1760. 1963. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in good order, just a little grubby. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is a little faded with bumping to ends and one small blemish to the cloth. Colour frontispiece. Textblock is in good condition, clean and tight. 276 pp. Green paper dust jacket with green and black lettering to spine and front. Dj has some small loss especially around the spine area and corners. Spine area is age darkened. Not priceclipped. Volume III: 1961. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards have been covered in a rather old, marked, non-removable plastic film. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is a little faded to the ends with bumping top and bottom. Colour frontispiece. Textblock is in good condition, clean and tight. 264 pp. Previous owner's mark to ffep. Cream paper dust jacket with red and black lettering to spine and front. Dj has two main areas of loss, one to the bottom of the spine and one to the rear corner. Various other nicks and creases. Spine area is age darkened. Not priceclipped. Volume IV: 1966. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in good order, just a little grubby. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is intact albeit with bumping to the ends. One or two grubby marks to the end pages. Colour frontispiece. Textblock is in good condition, clean and tight. 197 pp + index. Blue paper dust jacket with red and black lettering to spine and front. Dj edges are creased with numerous small nicks, particularly around the spine area. Closed tear to base of spine. Spine area is age darkened. Not priceclipped. Volume V: 1967. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. One or two minor marks to boards. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is intact albeit with bumping to the ends. Some foxing to endpages and a few pages around page 48, otherwise clean and tight. Colour frontispiece. 184 pp. Pink paper dust jacket with red and black lettering to spine and front. Dj edges are creased with numerous small nicks, particularly around the spine area. Closed tear to top of spine and along the top edge. Spine area is age darkened. Not priceclipped.
