Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is faded with bumping to ends. Age discolouration to endpages; some foxing. Both inner hinges are beginning to crack. B/w frontispiece with tissue protection intact (although foxed). Title page is foxed where the tissue guard has been against it. 495 pp. Presentation bookplate to fep reading 'with every good wish of the season from the author'.
