A poor copy of this scarce book. Needs a complete rebind. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Both are detached. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is almost entirely lost. Frontis is detached. Various cuttings tucked inside. 355 pp + adverts. Marks from various previous owners. Textblock is foxed. Pages are darkened. The plate 'Balloon passing over Coblentz at daybreak' is detached and pasted to rear board (frayed). Letter from celebrated balloonist Charles Green included.
