Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are rather worn but still serviceable. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Both have been rebacked with original spine relaid. Volume one has had the inner hinges repaired but volume two remains cracked, front and rear. Text block is tanned, but pretty clean. Previous owner's bookplate. Marks from various previous owners.
