Scarce. Volume One: Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Gilt emblem to the front board. Boards are generally in good order, just a little grubby. Corners are bumped. Spine is faded with bumping to ends. Both front and back end papers have become stuck and been pulled apart leaving some damage. The binding on the textblock is rather loose, the bundles are separating but still well held. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is generally clean. 389 pp. Previous owner's mark to half-title page. Volume Two: Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Gilt emblem to the front board. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is faded with bumping to ends; quite puckered and misshapen. Some foxing to endpages. Both inner hinges are cracked. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is generally clean. 388 pp. Previous owner's mark to half-title page. Additional photos are available upon request.
