Presentation copy. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front. Some corrective work has been performed on this volume. The boards are marked and generally grubby. Rear board is very puckered by damp. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is age darkened and the bottom end has been trimmed,. New endpapers, but author's inscription and signature remain. Both inner hinges are cracked. Colour frontispiece. Some foxing. 572 pp. Also contains a separate 4-face list of the original subscribers. Additional photos are available upon request.
