Scarce. (First edition was 1882) Red decorated cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and black lettering to front. Boards have marks commensurate with age. Corners are bumped. Edgewear, especially along the spine edges where the cloth is splitting. Spine is faded with bumping to ends. Front inner hinge is cracked. B/w frontispiece, tissue protection is missing. Previous owner's mark to early blank. Pagination: xii, 307pp, folding map, + 24 pp adverts. Additional photos are available upon request.
