Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine and front. Extensive staining to covers with signs of damp. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is stained, age darkened and with bumping to ends. Rough cut page edges. Front inner hinge is cracked. B/w frontispiece with tissue protection intact. Textblock is generally in a good, clean condition. 8 illustrations and 5 maps. Pagination: [xv], 367, 40 (adverts) pp. Contains the usual marks of an ex-library copy (Garrison Library, Tidworth). Additional photos are available upon request.
