At some later stage a matching piece has been rather badly glued in to repair the front hinge. Rear inner hinge is cracked, but holding. B/w frontispiece showing 41 ichneumons, complete with a key. Some small, infrequent annotations to the textblock. Some foxing here and there, mostly to the rear endpages. 315 pp. Volume II: Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Gilt emblem to the front. Boards are generally in good order, just a little grubby. Corners are bumped. Wear to board edges. Spine is age darkened with bumping to ends. Front endpages have been replaced - front endpages are brown whereas the rear endpages are black. Rear inner hinge has been repaired with brown paper. The pages are well held despite the textblock having cracked here and there. B/w frontispiece showing cryptus obscurus. Some small, infrequent annotations to the textblock. 351 pp + adverts. Articles from other sources have been tipped in amongst the textblock. Volume III: Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Gilt emblem to the front. Boards are generally in good order, just some shelfwear. Corners are bumped. Wear to board edges. Spine is age darkened with bumping to ends. Somewhat cocked. Front endpages have been replaced - front endpages are brown whereas the rear endpages are black. Rear inner hinge is cracking.
